During a week in Dubai full of surprises, SiGMA has been able to hold 3 conferences with 9,000 international attendees worldwide under one roof

Now that the SiGMA, Affiliate Grand Slam and AIBC conferences have come to an end in Dubai, we can only thank the masterminds and tireless hands responsible for the success of the event. Throughout this eventful week, there have been many dinners and drinks to build friendships, panel discussions and other opportunities specifically designed for participants to relax. For those who couldn’t make it, here are some highlights from the event.

The SiGMA-AGS conferences had several heated debates:

Our conferences were attended by industry titans, prominent entrepreneurs, and key figures from both the gaming and affiliate industries. The conference agenda featured several familiar faces, including Dr. Marwan Alzarouni, Dave Crane, Nick Spanos, Ben Goertzel, David Orban, Saeed Hared Al Darmaki, and many more.

Here’s what some of our speakers had to say:

“We have to make sure that those great ideas are not compromised by people who want to break them. We have to be one step ahead in terms of security.” -Simas Simanauskas, Head of Payments at Connect Pay.

“Content is the heart and soul of marketing.” – Baha Hamadi, Vice President of Communications, Deep Knowledge Group

Esports disrupt the gaming industry:

SiGMA also brought the competitive and multi-billion dollar world of Esports to the Dubai event, both through conferences and an Esports arena in which a tournament sponsored by Esports technologies also took place.

Here are the main discussions that emerged from the Esports conference discussions:

“Yes, it is inevitable that Esports will be regulated. You have to try to define the best rules, there is room to be creative, innovative and profitable, even in a highly regulated area. It works hand in hand with the authorities and tries to build a regulatory network that adapts to both extremes.” – Clement Martin Saint Leon, Vice President of Regulation and Strategy of the Barrière Group

“It’s very difficult to turn a traditional sports player into an esports player. It’s a completely different audience.” – Paruyr Shahbazyan, CEO of Azuro

During these discussions, delegates had the opportunity to learn more about the future of Esports, the growing industry in the UAE, and the key trends impacting the sector, which is on track to reach $20.7 billion by 2027.

The new generation of players who are making their mark on the battlefield competed for a $10,000 prize pool at the Esports Arena. This area, illuminated by lasers and LCD screens, featured several high-level guest players, as well as Geo Solovastru, who coordinated One Tap Gaming’s victory in Dubai.

Opening of the favorite SiGMA Pitch in Dubai:

Pioneering entrepreneurs, surrounded by top investors and mentors, competed for a prize pool of up to $500,000 in equity investment and a host of perks when pitching their ideas on stage.

The most outstanding pitch this year was that of Fanera. Fanera is the first social network by and for football fans. Their vision is to unite 3.5 billion football fans in one place to share their moments and connect with fans around the world.

Mohammed Kilany, CEO of Fanera and winner of the 1st edition of SiGMA Asia, told us: “Don’t fall in love with your idea, fall in love with your execution. The product will go through a lot of changes, what remains is the vision and it’s what people will invest in. Our ambition is to be a global company with a big mission.”

A venue twice as large as last year:

This year’s exhibition was twice as high as last year’s. The event floor plan is filled with booths, a sports stadium, three main stages, a press room, an investor room, and a food court.
