I’m David Gravel, a News Writer for SiGMA, based in Malta but forever a proud Yorkshireman.
For over two decades, I captured the world as a professional photographer across Europe, until Brexit and the pandemic forced a dramatic rewrite of my story. In those turbulent years, I returned to academia, earning a First-Class Honours degree and a Master’s in Creative Writing, which opened the door to an exciting new chapter.
Writing is my passion. When I’m not covering the iGaming industry, I’m working on my first cosy crime trilogy, following Doncaster Rovers through their highs and lows, or lost in a book. My Piscean nature adds a touch of magic to my work, fuelling creativity and helping me build meaningful connections through words.
I’m also a strong advocate for mental health and responsible gambling, committed to promoting inclusivity, respect, and giving everyone a voice. Life has taught me it’s never too late to reimagine your story – so here I am, doing exactly that, one page at a time.
