The National Lottery of Benin (LNB) has approved a gross dividend of 3.438 billion FCFA (US$ 5.97 million) for the 2025 financial year after shareholders endorsed the company’s annual financial statements at its Ordinary General Assembly. The meeting also outlined a long-term strategy focused on digital transformation, network expansion, profitability and customer engagement as the state lottery seeks to strengthen its position in the regional gaming market.

The General Assembly took place on 30 June 2026 at the Cotonou Convention Centre, where shareholders approved the 2025 accounts and adopted key governance resolutions. The company said these decisions will support its next phase of growth while maintaining value for investors.

Shareholders to receive 173 FCFA per share

As part of the approved dividend distribution, shareholders will receive a gross dividend of 173 FCFA ($0.30) per share, equivalent to 164 FCFA ($0.28) net per share. The total payout amounts to 3.438 billion FCFA ($ 5.97 million), reflecting the company’s financial performance during the 2025 fiscal year.

LNB said the dividend demonstrates its commitment to rewarding shareholders while preserving the financial resources needed to support future growth. The distribution follows shareholder approval of the company’s financial statements during the annual meeting.

Four priorities to drive future growth

During the meeting, Managing Director Marius Adanzounon presented the company’s strategic roadmap for the coming years.

The plan is built around four priorities. The first is accelerating digital transformation by integrating more technology into the company’s operations. The second is expanding the distribution network to increase market reach. The remaining priorities focus on improving profitability and strengthening customer engagement through better services and closer relationships with players.

Adanzounon said the strategy is designed to place the company on a sustainable growth path while creating long-term value for shareholders.

“Our ambition is to become the leader in lottery and betting games in Francophone Africa,” he said.

The roadmap also supports the company’s wider efforts to modernise its operations as lottery and betting businesses across Africa continue to invest in digital products and broader distribution networks.

Turnover exceeds 100 billion FCFA

Chair of the Board of Directors Sarah Bénédicte Kpénou highlighted the company’s financial progress during the General Assembly.

She said LNB’s turnover has grown from around 10 billion FCFA ($17.37 million) to more than 100 billion FCFA ($173.7 million), underlining the company’s expansion over recent years. According to Kpénou, the lottery industry continues to provide a sustainable business model that supports long-term investment and growth.

Focus remains on long-term value

The shareholder meeting reaffirmed LNB’s focus on combining investor returns with continued investment in the business.

The company aims to improve operational efficiency through digital technologies, expand its distribution footprint and enhance customer engagement while maintaining profitability. These initiatives form the foundation of its long-term strategy as it seeks to grow its presence in Benin and across French-speaking Africa.
