Why Malta in May?
In 2027, SiGMA Europe moves into a prime Q2 slot, bringing the iGaming sector together just as the global gaming calendar heats up.
Held in spring, SiGMA Europe provides a unique opportunity to avoid peak season congestion and experience Malta at its most beautiful. Mediterranean landscapes are lush and verdant, making this the perfect time for both business and leisure. Attendees can explore Malta’s rich culture and world-class hospitality, taking advantage of pleasant weather for networking events and outdoor activities.
May is a Great Time for Travel
May’s increase in international flight connectivity to Malta will ease travel logistics, offering more options and better prices for attendees. This move supports greater global participation, making it easier for professionals from around the world to join and connect with industry leaders and innovators. In 2025, the Malta International Airport (MIA) expanded its route network to reach a record 109 direct destinations. Southern Europe remains the primary region, but there’s growing coverage across Northern and Eastern Europe, with new routes to cities like Helsinki, Copenhagen, Hungary, London Southend, Warsaw, and Gothenburg.
An Optimised Venue Experience
When SiGMA kicked off ten years ago, it was in the country’s best interest to hold the show season in the ideal time to hold the summit whilst also benefiting a multitude of sectors.
Times have changed. The show has not only shifted its daily opening hours from 9:00 am to 10:00 am daily, but moved back to the recently refurbished Malta Fairs and Convention Centre (MFCC). The reroute to the MFCC brings delegates closer to St Julian’s – a hub for the island’s top star hotels and home to the Portomaso Casino – and our host for the second edition of the SiGMA Poker Tour in 2026.
