Before you travel
Most nationalities will require either a pre-approved e-visa or a visa-on-arrival. Please check the official UAE immigration regulations and confirm in advance.
Ensure your passport has at least six months’ validity from your arrival date.
Keep a copy (digital or physical) of your visa/entry confirmation to present at immigration if required.

Can SiGMA help me with my VISA application letter?
Yes. Should you require an invitation letter for your application, please fill out your details here. Many countries, including all EU member states, will not need a VISA if staying between 30 and 180 days – for the full list of VISA except countries, and for all other queries about VISAs, including eVISAs, please check in with official government authorities for the most up-to-date information.
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly advised. Dubai offers world-class medical and emergency support services, but coverage will streamline any unexpected visits.
Carry any prescription medication in its original packaging, along with clear documentation.
The local currency is the Emirati Dirham (AED). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted across hotels, retail, restaurants and transport.
ATMs are plentiful within Dubai Festival City and around the city. Digital wallets (e.g., Apple Pay, Google Pay) are broadly supported.
Dubai uses 230 V and Type G plugs (three-pin rectangular). Bring a universal travel adaptor if your devices use other plug types.
Download and install the SiGMAMatch app ahead of travel. Once you receive your ticket email, use it to generate your badge, build your agenda, view floor plans, and schedule meetings.
Getting there and around
Most international visitors arrive at Dubai International Airport (DXB), approximately 15–20 minutes by car from Dubai Festival City; consider pre-arranged transfers or ride-hailing services for a timely arrival.
For ground transport from the airport:
Ride-hailing services: Uber UAE and Careem are widely used and reliable.
Standard RTA taxis are also available and metered.
If your hotel offers shuttle or private transfer services, it may be worth arranging ahead of arrival.
What to expect once in Dubai
Early February brings mild daytime weather (average 23–26 °C) and cooler evenings (16–18 °C). Plan for light, breathable daytime clothing, and a blazer or clever layering for evening events.
Summit sessions typically call for smart casual attire — but premium dinners and formal events may require business formal dress.
Public spaces might expect modest dress; avoid overly revealing outfits, and adhere to local customs during summit sessions and social events.
On arrival, delegate SIM cards from local providers (such as Etisalat or du) are easy to acquire at the airport or in the city. This ensures strong 4G/5G coverage for summit needs.
Hotel and venue Wi-Fi is widely available and reliable.
Dubai enjoys a reputation for safety. Use common-sense precautions: avoid carrying large sums of cash or valuables, travel via regulated taxis or ride-hailing apps at night, and note local laws governing conduct, alcohol, and public behaviour.
Photography of government buildings, military sites, or airports is prohibited. Public displays of affection are discouraged. Dress modestly in public areas.
