Caesars Entertainment has expanded Ca$hline, its first proprietary online slot game, to players in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, following its New Jersey debut earlier this year. Developed by Caesars’ in-house studio, Empire Creative, the launch marks a milestone in the company’s push into original online slot content.

Competitive market

The regulated U.S. online casino market remains highly concentrated, with Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan leading the way. Over the past 12 months, Pennsylvania generated approximately $3.51 billion in gross gaming revenue (GGR), New Jersey about $2.95 billion, and West Virginia around $405 million, according to Casino Reports.

At the moment, FanDuel and DraftKings dominate the U.S. online gaming and sportsbook market. But Caesars and BetMGM are steadily closing the gap by leveraging casino loyalty programmes, proprietary content, and cross-platform integration. While Caesars currently holds a smaller share compared to its rivals, it is positioning itself through exclusive titles like Ca$hline and its rewards systems.

Availability across Caesars platforms

Proprietary content is central to Caesars’ strategy of differentiating itself from rivals such as DraftKings and BetMGM, which also rely on exclusive titles. Ca$hline is now available on Caesars Palace Online Casino, Horseshoe Online Casino, and the Ca$hline Sportsbook & Casino in jurisdictions where Caesars operates, including New Jersey, Michigan, and Ontario.

Expansion into Alberta

Two months ago, Caesars expanded its pre-registration for its online gambling brands in Alberta as it anticipates the province’s regulated market entry. The market is scheduled to open in July 2026, positioning Caesars to replicate its U.S. success in new international markets.

Growing proprietary portfolio

Ca$hline joins Caesars’ expanding lineup of exclusive titles, including the Signature series of online table games such as Signature Blackjack, Signature American Roulette, and Signature Baccarat.

Additionally, Caesars’ digital expansion strategy aims to scale its online gaming division into a major revenue driver. It plans to target $500 million in digital EBITDA by 2026. Proprietary content, technology integration, and enhanced customer engagement through Caesars Rewards are key pillars of this plan, according to media reports.

Digital revenue now accounts for about 12 per cent of Caesars’ total revenue, up from 2024 levels. To support growth, Caesars is investing in in-house studios in Michigan and Atlantic City to produce exclusive slot and table games. Moreover, since 2025, the company has committed to rolling out three proprietary slot titles, including Ca$hline.

Innovative gameplay features

Ca$hline has also launched the “Land It, Win It” mechanics. This enables players to bet on the first reel, the first two reels, or all three. With more reels activated, they unlock features like multipliers, reverse respins, and a wheel bonus that can award credits, jackpots, or trigger the Ca$hline feature.

Meanwhile, in Nevada, Caesars initiated a universal digital wallet and streamlined player account system. This enables cross-platform play, which is designed to boost retention and loyalty. These personalised promotions via Caesars Rewards help strengthen engagement, as mentioned in the record customer activity report in 2025.

Financial outlook

Despite strong digital momentum, Caesars carries approximately $11.9 billion in debt. Management has prioritised free cash flow for debt reduction and share buybacks while continuing to expand digital operations, according to Market Chameleon.
