Cybersecurity solutions provider Continent 8 Technologies has announced the appointment of Cris Kuehl (pictured) as Chief Data, Information and AI Officer. The company’s official statement notes that in his new role, Kuehl will be responsible for global data, AI and information management strategy. With this new appointment, the company is strengthening its analytics, automation and cyber resilience capabilities within its intelligent services.

Over 20 years of experience in AI

Cris Kuehl brings over twenty years of experience in corporate AI, analytics and data strategy to Continent 8. His professional background includes senior roles such as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Akkodis and Global Head of CX Analytics & AI at Foundever. In these roles, he was responsible for building scalable analytics platforms, implementing practical machine learning models and establishing data governance processes within heavily regulated environments.

Cris Kuehl’s professional profile encompasses not only technical expertise in machine learning and analytics but also experience with regulatory requirements, which is particularly important to the company’s clients. Michael Tobin, CEO and founder of Continent 8, commented on the appointment, emphasising that Kuehl’s experience in data, AI, and regulated environments is fully aligned with the company’s strategic direction.

According to Tobin, under the new director’s leadership, Continent 8 intends to expand its capabilities to deliver solutions that provide measurable benefits to clients.

“A pivotal moment in the industry’s transformation”

Kuehl, for his part, stated that he is delighted to join Continent 8 at a pivotal moment in the industry’s transformation. He noted that AI is changing how organisations operate, interact, and approach data security, and expressed his readiness to lead the company’s next phase of innovation. In his view, Continent 8 is uniquely positioned to drive change in the iGaming sector, where requirements for availability, security and compliance are particularly high.

Kuehl’s appointment is a natural step for Continent 8. The decision aligns with the company’s series of strategic initiatives to expand its presence and strengthen its cloud and infrastructure capabilities. In recent months, the company has continued to develop its regional operations, signalling its intention to strengthen its position in key markets and offer clients new services with integrated analytical capabilities.

A month prior to the appointment, the company entered into a strategic partnership with the specialist broker New Dawn Risk, combining its cybersecurity services with the partner’s insurance solutions. The joint offering, launching in the UK and Europe with plans for global expansion, strengthens cybersecurity data-sharing capabilities. In addition, operators can receive discounts on insurance premiums based on their security maturity and the safeguards implemented.

Significance for the industry

From the perspective of the company’s clients and partners, the appointment of a senior executive of this calibre emphasises data integration, process automation, and enhancements to key services. This is particularly relevant for iGaming operators, where requirements for response times, availability and regulatory compliance are combined with the need for a personalised customer experience and real-time analytics.

The appointment also reflects a broader industry trend: infrastructure providers and managed service providers are increasingly investing in data and AI capabilities to offer clients not just ‘hosting space’, but intelligent platforms that help optimise operations, reduce risks and boost profitability. In this context, Kuehl’s experience in building analytics ecosystems and implementing AI in regulated industries is strategically important for the further development of Continent 8.
