Paradise Co. has opened the Hyatt Regency Incheon Paradise City, bringing a refurbished 501-room hotel into its integrated resort complex near Incheon International Airport and lifting the site’s total accommodation capacity to 1,270 rooms.
The hotel occupies the former Grand Hyatt Incheon West Tower, a property Paradise Co. acquired from KAL Hotel Network for KRW 210 billion (approximately $151 million) in a deal announced in September 2025. The transaction closed in early 2026 after delays, with the previous management contract on the building expiring on 1 March. Reservations under the new Hyatt Regency branding opened three days later.
From acquisition to opening
The conversion involved refurbishment and rebranding rather than ground-up development. Of the 501 rooms now operating, 34 are suites. The hotel sits within the broader Paradise City complex, a development covering approximately 330,000 square metres that includes entertainment venues, wellness facilities, and a casino floor operated under South Korea’s foreigner-only licensing framework.
HyunMi Bae, General Manager of the newly opened property, said the hotel was designed to connect travellers arriving through Incheon Airport with the full range of facilities at Paradise City. The resort’s position adjacent to one of Asia’s most trafficked international airports has been central to its commercial model since the complex first opened.
Casino operations and joint venture structure
The casino at Paradise City is run by Paradise Sega Sammy Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Paradise Co. and Japan’s Sega Sammy Holdings. The gaming floor covers approximately 15,529 square metres and includes around 131 baccarat tables, 18 blackjack tables, 12 roulette tables, and more than 300 slot machines and electronic table games. By scale, it ranks among the larger foreigner-only casino operations in the country.

That regulatory designation is worth understanding. South Korea prohibits its own nationals from entering most domestic casinos, with only limited legal exceptions. Operators within this framework compete almost entirely for international visitors, making hotel infrastructure, brand recognition, and proximity to international transport links directly relevant to gaming floor performance. For Paradise City, the addition of a Hyatt Regency-flagged tower strengthens its offer in the upper-upscale accommodation tier.
Ownership consolidation at the complex
Before the acquisition, the West Tower had been owned and managed by KAL Hotel Network, the hospitality subsidiary of Hanjin KAL, the holding company of Korean Air’s parent group. That arrangement meant a third party controlled a significant portion of the accommodation sitting inside the Paradise City footprint.
The structure was eliminated through the acquisition by Paradise Co. The company now has direct control over the hotel assets within the complex through the acquisition. This has aligned the ownership structure with the company’s operational interests in the casino joint venture. The affiliation with the Hyatt Regency has been maintained through a separate brand management contract with the Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
As the global gaming industry continues to expand beyond physical venues, many international travellers who visit integrated resorts also engage with digital platforms, including guides to the best mobile online casinos when exploring gaming options during their trips.
Where things stand
The Hyatt Regency Incheon Paradise City is fully operational. The casino, under Paradise Sega Sammy, continues to run under South Korea’s foreigner-only regulatory framework alongside the expanded hotel offering.
The opening completes a transaction that took roughly six months from announcement to the first guests checking in. It is the most substantial addition to Paradise City’s room inventory since the resort launched in 2017 with the Art Paradiso hotel as its anchor accommodation property.
In the context of the integrated resort industry in Asia, the development serves as an example of a typical pattern wherein the operators are looking to gain control over the guest experience by bringing the hotel assets under a single ownership umbrella, as opposed to the relationship between the casino and the two hotels being separately owned. In the case of Paradise City, this has now been accomplished.
