SiGMA backs Malta’s August Moon Ball in support of MCCF
SiGMA is stepping up its commitment to social responsibility as a sponsor of the Ball of the August Moon, one of Malta’s most prestigious charitable events held in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF). The 2026 edition of the August Moon Ball will take place on Saturday 1st August at Verdala Castle, the official summer residence of the President of Malta, continuing a long‑standing tradition of opening this historic site to the public for one special night in support of those in need.

“I would say it’s definitely for you,” Marquis de Petri Testaferrata said when asked whether foreigners living and working in Malta should attend. He explained that the Ball is traditionally held on the first Saturday of August and described it as “a sublime opportunity to understand part of Maltese culture,” thanks in large part to its setting at Verdala Castle, one of the island’s most distinctive locations.
He pointed to the unique combination of elements that make the evening special – the castle itself, the rare wooded surroundings, and the visible heritage of Malta’s past – all brought together with the renowned generosity of the Maltese people and their cuisine.
