The SiGMA Foundation telethon has raised €229,989, following a 12-hour live fundraising broadcast that united donors, volunteers, businesses and public figures across Malta in support of humanitarian projects around the world.
Held on 5 July 2026, the Together We Can telethon showcased the Foundation’s work across multiple countries while persuading viewers to contribute to initiatives focused on healthcare, education, clean water, sports and community development.
Telethon shows the impact of humanitarian projects
Broadcast live from 11:00 to 23:00 on TVM, ONE, NET TV and Xejk, the telethon gave viewers an inside look at the Foundation’s humanitarian work through interviews with beneficiaries, volunteers, expedition participants and project leaders.
The programme highlighted projects across Uganda, Guatemala, Peru, Ethiopia, Brazil and the Philippines, demonstrating how donations directly support school construction and expansion, healthcare services, clean water initiatives, disability support programmes, women’s empowerment projects and wider community development.
Throughout the day, donation milestones reflected strong public support, culminating in a final fundraising total of €229,989.


Public and corporate support drives fundraising success
The telethon brought together supporters from across Malta, with members of parliament, business leaders, sports personalities and volunteers joining the live broadcast to encourage donations throughout the day.
Corporate pledges also contributed to the fundraising total, including a €50,000 commitment from SiGMA World in support of the Foundation’s ongoing humanitarian initiatives.
The event marked the Foundation’s first national telethon, with donations collected through telephone pledges, SMS contributions and corporate support.
