Taking place at the Hilton Malta, the SiGMA Euro-Med Charity Auction unfolded amidst a backdrop of high spirits and goodwill. As an integral part of the prestigious SiGMA Euro-Med Awards, the evening provided support to the Foundation’s most impactful missions, sharing powerful stories of tenacity and aspiration, while also giving light to upcoming projects championed by the Foundation over the next few years.
Gathering leaders from across the gaming sector, the event demonstrated how generosity can unite industries and inspire meaningful change well beyond business circles.
A well-known figure at SiGMA events, auctioneer Goddard was in fine form, delighting guests with a charming patter of anecdotes and jokes and whipping up visible excitement over some of the auction’s most sought-after pieces, which included several artworks and pieces of sporting memorabilia.
Over the course of the night, a notable €103,500 was raised, with a bidding war breaking out over several pieces, including Fallen Angel 2 – a tribute piece to the late artist Mark Mallia, a highly coveted t-shirt signed by football legend – Messi and an exciting last minute offer from the Founders of Vegas Legends, Alex Tomic and Bylian Balinoff for EDOs Maltese Falcon.
Every bid tonight from the SiGMA delegates in attendance helped fund and support vital projects for the Foundation, which this year included key initiatives – such as an extension to a hospital in rural Peru, which will provide much-needed healthcare to communities there, and an MMA sports and learning centre in Sao Paulo, a project which targets disadvantaged youth from some of the city’s poorest neighbourhoods.
In 2026, the Foundation will build on this success with a project pipeline that homes in on education, health, and sustainability:
- Bonga, Ethiopia: Water tanks for Wush Wush Kindergarten; four new classrooms near the Women’s Empowerment Centre; and a revenue-generating community hub to sustain local salaries and school operations.
- Jimma, Ethiopia: Refurbishment of St Peter & St Paul Primary School to make learning spaces safe and weatherproof.
- Kasese, Uganda: Kindergarten construction (3 classrooms, sanitation, clean water) and Primary School expansion (5 classrooms, latrines, multipurpose hall).
- Iquitos, Peru: Casa Betania Night Shelter rebuild and a River Repository—dormitories for river patients awaiting care.
- Guatemala (Puerto Barrios): Continuation of Clay Filters & Clean Stoves—more filters, safer stoves, stronger local production.
- Philippines: Wi-Fi for e-learning + feeding programme in Tondo; Community Centre Phase 2 in Batiawan; solar + AC upgrades for the José Depiro Formation Centre (Bataan).
As a result of its efforts from 2023 to 2024, the SiGMA Foundation has raised a total of $935,400 through charitable auctions. This year, as part of its continued ESG efforts, the SiGMA Group will also donate a percentage of its ticket sales to charitable endeavors.
