The challenge that built the SiGMA Foundation
The Kilimanjaro Challenge is the cornerstone on which the SiGMA Foundation was built. Over the years, the Foundation has completed 13 successful climbs, each one acting as a vital fundraising initiative for early development work in Ethiopia. It was during these climbs that the Foundation’s mission of empowering communities through action, solidarity and sustainability first took shape.

Climbing for change
Running from 25th January to 6th February 2026, the Kilimanjaro Challenge will conclude with a powerful milestone. The inauguration of a transformative school project in Uganda. Powered by 1xBet, a newly built kindergarten will support early childhood development in the region, offering up to 300 children access to quality education in a safe and nurturing environment. The school will be a permanent facility that includes three well constructed classrooms, staff rooms, safe sanitation facilities and access to clean water. The new facility will offer a safe and supportive space, building on the community’s efforts to improve local education and drive sustainable development.
But the work doesn’t stop there. The 2026 expedition will help finance the construction of five additional classrooms that will allow students to transition out of temporary tents and into proper educational facilities. This expansion is vital to delivering continuity in education and empowering the wider community with long-term learning opportunities. By linking the physical endurance of the climb with a tangible, lasting outcome, participants of the Kilimanjaro Challenge 2026 will actively contribute to the next chapter in this community’s story.
