Major prediction market operator Polymarket and the top-flight German football league, the Bundesliga, have announced a new partnership. This agreement marks the first regional United States sponsorship deal for the Bundesliga and makes Polymarket the official US prediction market partner for the top German league.

Polymarket receives exclusive rights to the Bundesliga

Once the 2026-2027 Bundesliga season kicks off in August, users on Polymarket will be able to trade a range of event contracts tied to league matches.

As reported by Yahoo Finance, this Polymarket partnership is Relevant’s first regional sponsorship deal for the Bundesliga in the US since becoming the Bundesliga’s exclusive commercial and rights media partner.

The multi-year partnership reportedly includes digital and social content focused on match predictions and markets, with Polymarket US receiving exclusive rights to use Bundesliga and collective club intellectual property in a listed prediction market format.

Furthermore, Sportradar, which is the Bundesliga’s official sports wagering, streaming, and data partner, still retains exclusive rights to distribute official league data, “with any provision of such data to Polymarket subject to a separate commercial agreement”.

Prominent players in the Bundesliga, including US stars

Ari Borod, President of Sports Business Development at Polymarket, remarked that the Bundesliga “is home to some of the most exciting players in world football, and its US audience reflects that”.

The Bundesliga is most definitely home to a wide array of football’s most prolific and popular players, many of whom are also representing their countries at the ongoing 2026 World Cup.

Some such players include England’s captain Harry Kane, France’s Michael Olise, Colombia’s Luis Diaz, Ivory Coast’s Yan Diomande, and Canada’s Alphonso Davies, along with a number of German players, such as Deniz Undav, Jamal Musiala, and Felix Nmecha.

Prominent young American midfielder Giovanni Reyna also plies his trade in the Bundesliga, currently signed with Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he is accompanied by his compatriot Joe Scally. Both players are currently playing for the US Men’s National Team at the World Cup, where the team has already secured a spot in the tournament’s knockout stages.

Malik Tillman, another Bundesliga star with Bayer Leverkusen, is also representing the US at the World Cup. Furthermore, America’s star player Christian Pulisic initially burst onto the scene as a young prodigy who made a name for himself in the Bundesliga while playing for German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Polymarket looking to carve out a US football fan niche

With all that in mind, especially noting the potential US-centric interest by having so many prominent American players in the league, the star power in the Bundesliga is undeniable, further contributing to the league’s popularity in the States.

Robun Austermann, Executive Vice President at Bundesliga Americas, said that partnerships such as this are a testament to the Bundesliga’s “long-term collaboration with Relevent to grow German soccer in the region, as we continue to showcase football as it’s meant to be in the Americas”.

Borod remarked that “an official partnership with the Bundesliga equips Polymarket to serve that audience with the credibility the league deserves”.

This is not the first deal that Polymarket has signed with a major European top-flight football league, as it has also previously agreed to partnerships with Italy’s Serie A and Spain’s La Liga.

It seems the prediction market operator has adopted a strategy to carve out a niche in the US for football fans. Naturally, one would expect that interest in the sport will only continue to grow in the States, especially with the attention that the World Cup is bringing.
