New Jersey’s gaming market continued its strong upward trend in November 2025, driven largely by the sustained rise of internet gaming. Data released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement in mid-December shows that total gaming revenue reached $636.2 million for the month, marking a 14.2 percent increase compared to November 2024.
On 15 December 2025, New Jersey lawmakers met to examine the impact of micro-betting. They discussed whether micro-betting created more risks than benefits, but no vote was taken. As one of the first states to legalise sports betting after federal restrictions ended, New Jersey’s decisions often influenced national policy, meaning any move to restrict micro-betting could have had wider effects.
Total gaming revenue shows strong momentum
The November results covered casinos, racetracks and their online partners. Combined revenue across all verticals reached $636.2 million, reinforcing 2025 as a growth year for New Jersey’s regulated gaming industry. The performance also lifted year-to-date gaming revenue to $6.38 billion through November, representing a 10.4 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
This steady growth reflects consistent consumer engagement across digital and physical channels. It also highlights the resilience of the state’s gaming sector amid a competitive regional market.
Internet gaming continues to outperform casinos
Internet gaming once again delivered the strongest monthly performance. Online casino games generated $253 million in revenue during November, an 18.2 percent year-on-year increase. This marked another month in which internet gaming revenue exceeded that of traditional casino operations.
Through the first eleven months of 2025, internet gaming produced $2.64 billion in revenue, up 22.2 percent compared with the prior year period. The segment remains the fastest-growing part of New Jersey’s gaming market and continues to attract operators and players alike.
Land-based casinos post steady gains
Despite being overtaken by online gaming, land-based casinos still recorded positive growth. Casino win for November reached $236.8 million, up 5.7 percent from November 2024.
On a year-to-date basis, casino win totalled $2.68 billion through November, representing a 3.6 percent increase year on year. These figures show that in-person gaming continues to play an important role in the state’s overall gaming mix, supported by established casino destinations in Atlantic City.
Sports betting delivers double-digit monthly growth
Sports wagering also made a strong contribution in November. Gross revenue from sports betting reached $146.3 million for the month, reflecting a 23 percent increase compared to the same month last year.
However, year-to-date growth in sports wagering remained more modest. Total sports betting gross revenue reached $1.06 billion through November, up 2.8 percent year on year. Monthly fluctuations continue to influence this segment, often linked to sporting calendars and betting activity.
Tax revenue rises alongside gaming growth
The strong gaming performance translated into higher tax receipts for the state. New Jersey collected $93.4 million in total gross revenue taxes during November alone. This brought year-to-date tax collections to $794.2 million through the end of the month.
These tax revenues support public services and reinforce the economic importance of the regulated gaming industry within the state.
Regulatory focus remains in place
The November figures were released against a backdrop of increased regulatory activity in 2025. Throughout the year, the Division of Gaming Enforcement advanced responsible gambling initiatives and continued enforcement actions across all gaming verticals.
