Playson has expanded its presence in South Africa after signing a content partnership with Hollywoodbets, a betting and gaming operators. The agreement will bring a selection of Playson’s slot titles to Hollywoodbets’ online platform through Light & Wonder’s aggregation platform, marking another step in the supplier’s African expansion strategy.

Playson strengthens South African footprint

Under the agreement, Hollywoodbets will add several of Playson’s Hold and Win games to its online casino offering. The first batch of releases includes Coin Strike: Hold and Win, Thunder Coins: Hold and Win, Thunder Coins XXL: Hold and Win, Diamonds Power: Hold and Win, Energy Coins: Hold and Win and 3 Carts of Gold: Hold and Win. Both companies said more titles will be introduced over time as the partnership develops.

The games will be delivered through Light & Wonder’s aggregation platform, allowing Hollywoodbets to expand its existing casino content without requiring a direct integration with the supplier. Aggregation platforms have become a common route for operators to add new content more quickly while giving suppliers access to regulated markets.

The agreement also adds another supplier to Hollywoodbets’ growing online casino portfolio as competition among licensed operators continues to increase in South Africa.

Africa remains a strategic market

The most recent collaboration is a component of Playson’s larger plans to expand throughout Africa. In an effort to strengthen its position in regulated markets, the supplier has announced a number of commercial agreements in the area this year. As one of the most developed online gaming industries on the continent, South Africa continues to draw foreign suppliers hoping to expand their distribution through significant local operators.

Hollywoodbets has built its business across sports betting, casino gaming and other online products. The company has continued to broaden its content offering by partnering with multiple game suppliers in recent years, giving players access to a wider range of slot and casino titles.

Companies outline partnership plans

Blanka Homor, Sales Director at Playson, said the agreement represents another milestone in the company’s African growth plans. “Partnering with Hollywoodbets represents another important milestone in our African growth strategy. As one of South Africa’s household names, Hollywoodbets offers an outstanding platform through which we can introduce our high-performing portfolio to an even wider audience.”

“We are confident our games will resonate strongly with players, and we look forward to building a successful long-term partnership together,” said Homor.

Wayde Dorkin, Head of Product at Hollywoodbets, said Playson’s portfolio has established a reputation in regulated markets and will strengthen the operator’s existing casino offering. He added that the company continues to focus on expanding the range of entertainment available to its customers through new content partnerships.

Competition for African growth continues

The deal reflects the continued focus of international game suppliers on Africa, particularly South Africa, where regulated operators are expanding their digital casino offerings. Partnerships between suppliers and established operators have become a key route for companies seeking to increase market reach without entering new jurisdictions independently.
