Patrick Dumont, chairman and chief executive officer of Las Vegas Sands and chairman of Sands China, has reported a higher deemed interest in Las Vegas Sands (LVS) after shares were transferred to his spouse, according to a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The disclosure shows Dumont’s reported long position in LVS increased from 4.89 per cent to 11.65 per cent following the transfer of shares to his wife, Annabelle Sivan Dumont.

Off-market transfer reported

The transaction took place on 17 June. According to the filing, the shares were transferred as a gift in an off-market transaction, with no cash consideration involved.

The shares were disclosed as being held by Annabelle Sivan Dumont following the transfer. However, under Hong Kong securities regulations, directors can be deemed to have an interest in shares owned by their spouse or minor children.

As a result, the transaction increased Dumont’s reportable interest in Las Vegas Sands despite the shares being held by his spouse.

Disclosure reflects regulatory requirements

The filing was made under Hong Kong’s disclosure framework, which requires directors and senior executives of listed companies to report changes in both direct and deemed interests in securities.

Deemed interests can arise through family relationships, including shareholdings by a spouse. Such disclosures are intended to provide transparency regarding the interests of company directors and key executives.

The latest filing therefore reflects a change in Dumont’s reportable interest rather than a purchase of shares on the open market.

No direct impact on Sands China Holdings

The disclosure relates to Las Vegas Sands, the parent company of Sands China, and does not indicate any direct change in Dumont’s shareholding in Sands China.

Las Vegas Sands remains the controlling shareholder of the Macau casino operator. The filing concerns ownership interests in the parent company and does not signal any change to Sands China’s ownership structure, management or operations.

Reported stake rises to 11.65%

Following the transfer, Dumont’s deemed long position in Las Vegas Sands rose to 11.65 per cent, according to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange filing.

The disclosure provides an update on the executive’s reportable interests and reflects the application of Hong Kong’s rules on family-related shareholdings. No cash payment was involved in the transfer, and the filing does not indicate any broader corporate transaction involving either Las Vegas Sands or Sands China.

Former MGM China executive Hubert Wang joins Sands China

Wang will report directly to Chum and join the Sands China Executive Committee, overseeing gaming and resort operations, market development, international marketing and loyalty marketing.

Wang joins Sands China after departing from MGM China Holdings in December 2025.
