Sean McCreery has joined Solaire Resort & Casino in Manila as its new chief operating officer, adding another experienced gaming executive to the leadership team at Bloomberry Resorts Corp as the company continues to reshape its senior management.
McCreery confirmed his appointment through a post on LinkedIn, saying he started the role earlier this month. His arrival comes during a period of management changes at Bloomberry Resorts, which operates Solaire Resort & Casino in Manila and Solaire Resort North in Quezon City.
Experienced casino executive joins Solaire
McCreery brings more than a decade of leadership experience from some of the biggest names in the global casino industry.
Before joining Solaire, he spent 10 years with Sands China Ltd after first joining its parent company, Las Vegas Sands Corp, in 2013. He most recently served as executive vice president of operations at Sands China before leaving the company in November 2025. At the time, Sands China said he was departing to begin a new chapter in his career.
Earlier in his career, McCreery also held senior positions at Crown Melbourne in the Australian state of Victoria, giving him experience across major integrated resort and casino operations.
His appointment strengthens Solaire’s executive team as the company focuses on its casino, hotel and entertainment businesses in the Philippines.
Leadership changes continue at Bloomberry
McCreery’s appointment is the latest in a series of leadership changes across Bloomberry Resorts.
Former president and chief operating officer Thomas Arasi stepped down in December 2024 after leading the company for several years. Greg Hawkins was later appointed as his successor.
The management reshuffle continued in July 2025 when Damian Quayle was named chief operating officer of Solaire Resort North, the group’s second integrated resort in Metro Manila.
More recently, Bloomberry announced that Cyrus Sherafat, executive vice-president and head of gaming, will leave the company with effect from 31 August.
The latest appointments and departures reflect an ongoing restructuring of the group’s senior leadership team.
Expansion and financial performance
Bloomberry Resorts expanded its Philippine footprint in May 2024 with the opening of Solaire Resort North in Quezon City, located northeast of Manila. The property marked the company’s second integrated resort in the country and broadened its presence in the Metro Manila market.
Despite the expansion, Bloomberry reported weaker financial results for the opening quarter of 2026.
The company posted a net loss of nearly PHP125 million ($2 million) for the three months ended 31 March 2026. Net revenue declined 8.8 per cent year on year to just under PHP13.10 billion ($213.8 million).
The appointment of McCreery comes as Bloomberry continues to strengthen its management team while operating two integrated resorts in the Philippines. His experience across international casino operations adds further industry expertise to the company as it oversees its existing properties and ongoing business operations.
