Sportradar Group, a global sports technology company, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire IMG Arena and its portfolio of global sports betting rights from Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc. The acquisition is expected to bolster Sportradar’s position in key sports markets, particularly in tennis, football, and basketball.

“Sportradar’s success is driven by the breadth of its sports coverage, a broad product portfolio, the leading technology, and a global distribution network,” Carsten Koerl, CEO of Sportradar, said. “G Given our proven track record of maximizing ROI through our global betting rights deals and our strengthened position across tennis, basketball and soccer, we are confident in our ability to realize the full economic potential of this portfolio.”

The company covers close to a million events annually across all major sports.

Strengthening Sportradar’s global reach

The company said the acquisition will add a portfolio of sports rights covering approximately 39,000 official data events and 30,000 streaming events across 14 sports on six continents. This includes major properties such as Wimbledon, the US Open, Roland-Garros, Major League Soccer, EuroLeague basketball, and the PGA Tour.

With this deal, Sportradar said it will secure betting rights for three of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, reinforcing its dominance in the sport. “The addition of these strategic rights will unlock new growth opportunities, enabling us to deliver exceptional value to our partners, clients, and shareholders,” Koerl added.

Financial structure and growth expectations

Sportradar also revealed it will not be required to pay any financial consideration for the acquisition. Instead, the transaction includes $225 million in financial considerations, comprising $125 million paid to Sportradar and up to $100 million in cash prepayments made by Endeavor to certain sports rightsholders.

The company expects the deal to immediately boost its adjusted EBITDA margins while accelerating revenue and free cash flow growth. “In addition, the unique structure of this transaction accelerates our revenue and cash flow profile and will be immediately accretive to our margins,” Koerl said.

Closing timeline and regulatory approvals

Sportradar said the acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions. UBS Swiss Financial Advisors is serving as the exclusive financial advisor, with Brandl Talos acting as transaction counsel for Sportradar. Further details will be discussed during Sportradar’s earnings call and at its Investor Day on 1 April.
