In the first quarter of 2026, Gamecheck identified more than 4,266 online casinos operating fake games, with new cases continuing to appear as monitoring expands. The findings highlight how quickly the online casino environment is evolving and the growing need for transparency tools that help players understand whether the games they encounter are real or fake.
The developments come as the online gambling market in Africa continues to expand. Rising smartphone adoption, improving internet access and the widespread use of mobile payment solutions are making online casino platforms increasingly accessible across the continent.
