Brazilian fans’ passion for the national team remains stronger than ever. Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, data released by Betano show that bettors’ confidence in Brazil securing a sixth world title remains high. According to the survey, 75.47 per cent of wagers placed in the “Outright Winner” category were directed towards Brazil, a percentage significantly higher than that of any other national team.

The figure is noteworthy not only because Brazil leads the rankings, but also because of the gap compared to its competitors. Portugal ranks second with 5.79 per cent of bets, followed by France with 5.08 per cent. Argentina, the current world champion, received only 1.30 per cent of selections from Brazilian users on the platform.

The data helps illustrate a scenario already familiar during World Cup periods. Brazilian supporters tend to show strong confidence in the national team, especially when the country enters the tournament surrounded by positive expectations. Even after more than two decades without winning the title, having last lifted the trophy in 2002, the dream of a sixth World Cup continues to inspire millions of people both inside and outside stadiums.

World Cup boosts betting market

The World Cup has traditionally been the largest sporting event for the global betting industry. In 2026, the sector expects a significant increase in betting activity during the competition. Estimates cited by specialised media outlets suggest the market anticipates growth of up to 40 per cent in betting turnover throughout the tournament.

In Brazil, this growth comes at an important moment for the sector. Following the regulation of the fixed-odds betting market, licensed operators have begun operating under stricter rules, increasing investments in technology, sports integrity monitoring and responsible gaming tools. The combination of a newly regulated market and one of the world’s most popular sporting events helps explain the growing interest among bettors.

Endrick emerges as one of the tournament’s brightest prospects

If there is one player who embodies the renewal of the Brazilian national team at this World Cup, it is Endrick. The young forward is among the standout names in Betano’s survey and appears as one of the most popular players among Brazilian bettors. In the race for the tournament’s Golden Boot award, he ranks as the highest-placed Brazilian player, occupying fourth place overall with 6.72 per cent of bets. Ahead of him are Kylian Mbappé, Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane.

However, in the Best Young Player category, the striker overwhelmingly leads bettors’ preferences. More than half of Brazilian bettors, 52.78 per cent, believe Endrick will win the award. The second-placed player is another Brazilian, Rayan, who received 27.38 per cent of bets. Spain’s Lamine Yamal follows with 9.52 per cent.

Having emerged through Palmeiras’ youth system at an early age, Endrick quickly became one of world football’s most promising talents. His performances for the Brazilian national team and his transfer to European football have further increased supporters’ confidence in his potential.

Cristiano Ronaldo leads race for individual award

In the race for the tournament’s best player award, Cristiano Ronaldo is the leading favourite among Brazilian platform users, accounting for 25.81 per cent of bets. Even at 41 years old, the Portuguese star remains one of the most popular names in world football.

Neymar occupies second place with 16.13 per cent of selections, followed by Mbappé, who received 10.48 per cent. Young Spanish talent Lamine Yamal comes next with 9.68 per cent, while Vinicius Junior rounds out the top five most-backed players with 7.26 per cent.

Mbappé favourite to finish as top scorer

When it comes to the World Cup Golden Boot, French forward Kylian Mbappé leads by a comfortable margin. He received 29.42 per cent of bets to finish the competition as its top scorer. Bettors’ preference is understandable given the player’s recent record. A world champion in 2018 and one of the stars of the 2022 World Cup, Mbappé has already built an impressive record at World Cups and is regarded by many specialists as one of the leading players of his generation.

Cristiano Ronaldo appears in second place with 10.25 per cent, followed by England’s Harry Kane, who received 10.03 per cent of bets. Endrick is the highest-ranked Brazilian player on the list.

Luiz Henrique gains traction among Brazilian bettors

Among markets specifically related to the Brazilian national team, one name stood out: Luiz Henrique. The forward leads betting to finish the World Cup as Brazil’s top scorer, receiving 18.90 per cent of selections from Betano users. Endrick follows closely behind with 16.95 per cent, while Neymar completes the top three with 15.92 per cent. The result demonstrates how the striker has been gaining support among fans and bettors. Following strong seasons and steady progress, Luiz Henrique arrives at the World Cup with high expectations.

In the assists market, Neymar takes the lead among Brazilian players. The number 10 received 18.92 per cent of bets to finish the tournament as Brazil’s leading assist provider. Vinicius Junior follows closely with 18.02 per cent, while Matheus Cunha ranks third with 16.22 per cent.

Another interesting figure from the survey involves the World Cup top assist provider market. France’s Michael Olise leads by a wide margin, accounting for 37.34 per cent of bets. Bruno Fernandes occupies second place with 13.78 per cent, while Neymar ranks third with 7.77 per cent. Olise’s status as favourite may be linked to the excellent form he has shown in recent seasons.

Although betting does not determine what happens on the pitch, it often serves as an interesting indicator of supporters’ sentiment. At the moment, the message is clear: Brazilians still believe in a sixth World Cup title.
