GRID has announced a new partnership with Sportstensor, the official market maker and liquidity provider for Polymarket, to provide verified esports data for prediction markets. The partnership marks GRID’s arrival as the chosen esports data oracle for Sportstensor, signalling a major change for how esports data is used in blockchain prediction markets.

With this agreement, GRID will deliver live, rights-compliant data from top-tier esports competitions. This includes titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, League of Legends and VALORANT, through its exclusive relationships with game publishers and tournament organisers. For prediction market users, the deal means that markets can now reflect exactly what happens in each match, settled with information that is both official and verified.

Speaking exclusively to SiGMA News, Dominika Szot, VP of Growth at GRID said of the partnership, “Reliable, quality data is the foundation for entertaining and integrity-compliant prediction markets. This partnership with Sportstensor guarantees that every esports market on Polymarket is powered by official data coming directly from the game servers through GRID’s exclusive integrations. That foundation is what allows these markets to operate with trust, accuracy, and speed.

“What’s equally exciting is the overlap in the audience. Esports fans and prediction traders already share the same digital DNA: data-driven, community-first, information-hungry, and eager to engage in real time. Bringing official esports data on-chain connects these worlds, creating a new, authentic way for fans to participate in the entertainment they love while unlocking the next growth frontier for esports.”

Data oracles and integrity

In a decentralised environment, ‘data oracles’ such as GRID are bridging the gap between what happens in matches and how those results are settled on platforms like Polymarket. Their function is to send validated live information, such as final scores and key gameplay stats, directly to blockchain environments. Once a market is live, its outcome is determined on the basis of this real match data, instead of relying on less reliable or delayed sources.

By using GRID’s server-level data, Sportstensor has the ability to settle markets more quickly and accurately. This ensures every contract and market on Polymarket is based on accurate information, which is exactly what is needed in a growing digital wagering space.

New possibilities for prediction markets

One of the features of the deal is the capability to create more innovative and verified prediction markets. It’s possible to offer not just straightforward win/loss outcomes, but also markets on stats like the total number of chickens eliminated in a CS2 tournament. These types of engaging markets are made viable by the real-time, granular data provided by GRID.

Sportstensor’s CEO, Leo Chan, made the point that trust is fundamental to how prediction markets function for both traders and providers. He commented, “Prediction markets depend on trust, not just between traders, but in the accuracy of outcomes that underpin every contract.

“Partnering with GRID ensures our esports markets are settled using verified, rights-compliant data straight from the source. That allows us to design richer and more engaging markets for Polymarket users, uniquely enabled by official data.”

GRID’s larger ambitions

This partnership is part of GRID’s broader strategy to put official, server-level esports data at the centre of a wider range of industry applications. GRID already works with leading names in esports publishing and tournament organising, including Riot Games, Ubisoft, BLAST and ESL FACEIT Group, to turn every captured moment into commercial and fan-facing products and solutions.

The company’s aim is to use technology to create a more transparent and data-driven future for competitive gaming. Especially as markets and digital entertainment continue to overlap, the value and credibility offered by official data are only becoming more apparent. With moves like this, GRID is not just providing data for betting or regulated operators, but opening up new routes for prediction and engagement products.

Impact on Sportstensor and Polymarket

By gaining direct access to official esports data, Sportstensor is now able to raise the bar for transparency and market integrity in prediction markets. The result is that Polymarket users, alongside operators and content creators, can design and participate in a greater variety of esports-themed markets. These can range from straightforward tournament winners to creative in-game props, all underpinned by accurate source data.

Sportstensor is also growing its role as a marketplace and hub for predictive intelligence. It collaborates with a global network of analytics developers and offers prediction services to sportsbooks, media, teams and professional bettors.

The partnership with GRID is intended to support Sportstensor’s drive to “democratise access to sophisticated analytics while setting a new standard for accuracy and transparency in the sports intelligence industry,” according to the company’s own statement.
