Notably, announcements covered in this week’s Industry Reels roundup include partnerships and licence acquisitions focused on the UK and Canada, launches across different facets of the industry, including a new responsible gaming initiative, and some significant senior appointments.
Partnerships
St8 and Octoplay extend partnership into Ontario and the UK
Casino games aggregator St8 has announced that its partnership with Octoplay is expanding into the United Kingdom and Ontario, Canada.
St8 said that this partnership is intended to further strengthen its content offering “across two of the industry’s most important regulated markets”.
It continued that through the extended agreement, it will make Octoplay’s full portfolio of casino games available to operators in both jurisdictions, “providing partners with seamless access to the supplier’s high-quality content through its single API integration”.
Furthermore, St8 commented that this latest agreement reinforces its strategy of expanding its premium content portfolio while helping operators simplify integration, accelerate market entry, and deliver experiences across multiple regulated jurisdictions.

Midnite announced as front-of-shirt sponsor for Middlesbrough and Sheffield United
UK sports betting and online gaming brand Midnite has announced that it has become the principal partner of Middlesbrough and renewed its existing principal partnership with Sheffield United, two clubs competing in the English Football League (EFL) Championship.
Discussing the deal, Midnite stated that it will become Middlesbrough’s front-of-shirt sponsor during the club’s upcoming historic 150th season.
Midnite’s Head of Brand Marketing, Andrew Mook, noted that the EFL Championship “is one of the most viewed football leagues in the world,” as he remarked that some of the clubs competing in the league can be touted as some of English football’s most iconic and historical names.
“We are looking forward to being a part of the action by partnering with two of the league’s biggest clubs in what should be another thrilling season,” he said.

Launches and licensing
1xBet launches 1xCare to advance player protection and responsible gambling
1xCare, a responsible gambling initiative focused on player protection and harm prevention across the global gambling ecosystem, has been established by 1xBet.
In a statement announcing the launch, 1xCare stated that this has been done “to consolidate efforts in research, education, technology, and player well-being under one unified framework”. It continued that the mission is “to advance player protection and responsible gambling through evidence-based research, education, innovative technologies, and collaborative partnerships”.
The vision for 1xCare, it said, is “to become a recognised hub for responsible gambling excellence across the global gambling ecosystem”. 1xCare stated that its work is structured around four pillars, those being support and well-being, the research hub, EduCare, and TechShield.
EduCare revolves around promoting responsible gambling education, awareness programmes, and ethical standards across operators, sports, and communities, whilst TechShield is about advancing responsible gambling technologies, including tools for early risk detection and safer player experiences.
Chairperson Simon Westbury stated that 1xCare was created with the aim of supporting a more informed, transparent, and sustainable gambling ecosystem, “one where player protection and well-being are central”.
“1xCare is built to contribute, not to compete,” added Westbury. “We look forward to working alongside existing experts and organisations that share the goal of better protecting players and building greater trust in the industry.”

Octoplay secures Alberta conditional license approval
Coming back to Octoplay, the gaming content provider announced that it has secured conditional license approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), which Octoplay said is “clearing the path for the studio to supply its product catalogue to operators in Canada’s newest regulated iGaming market”.
Octoplay commented that Alberta “represents one of the most anticipated regulated market openings in Canada,” which it said is “arriving at a time when Octoplay’s North American growth is gaining strong traction,” with the company already live in Ontario and having debuted in New Jersey.
With the Alberta license secured, Octoplay remarked that it is set to go live quickly with leading local operators as the market launches on 13 July.

WinSpirit launches Alchemy of Passion campaign
Online casino WinSpirit announced that it has launched ‘Alchemy of Passion’, which it describes as “a birthday campaign combining gamification, rewards, and player engagement”.
In celebration of its birthday, WinSpirit said that Alchemy of Passion is “a large-scale promotional campaign designed to create deeper player engagement through gamification, storytelling, and immersive rewards”.
Detailing the campaign, it said that it transforms traditional promotional mechanics into an “interactive journey,” where players are invited to collect ingredients, complete quests, unlock rewards, and explore new experiences.
“By combining narrative-driven mechanics with rewarding gameplay elements, the campaign provides partners with a flexible engagement tool designed to support retention and long-term player relationships,” WinSpirit stated.
It added that the campaign also reflects its “continued investment in innovation, exploring new ways to connect entertainment, technology, and player-focused experiences within the iGaming ecosystem”.

Dominator Play celebrates 2026 World Cup with dedicated prize draw
iGaming B2B provider Dominator Play has, in celebration of the ongoing 2026 World Cup, invited football fans to participate in a special AI-powered prize draw.
Describing the World Cup as “a global festival of passion, anticipation, and unforgettable moments,” Dominator Play said that it is launching a prize draw running until 12 July in order to mark the occasion.
“Participation is designed to be as accessible as a perfect tap-in,” the B2B provider commented. “Entrants simply need to create a football-themed image using AI while following a set of straightforward requirements.” The requirements can be found on the provider’s LinkedIn page.
Once the campaign concludes, Dominator Play stated that winners will be selected through an independent random number service, “ensuring a transparent and fair prize draw process”. Prizes include memorabilia such as professional kits and footballs.

Appointments
Paysecure announces two senior appointments
Payment platform Paysecure announced two senior appointments this week, with Ganesh Iyer appointed as Head of Product, and Lili Piper appointed as Senior Partnerships Manager.
In a statement regarding the appointments, Paysecure said that Iyer will be leading the next stage of its product design as it scales internationally in the iGaming and global eCommerce sectors.
Paysecure said that Iyer joined the company from Entain, where it said that he led global payments and managed a portfolio across more than 20 regulated markets.
“Working across sectors such as eCommerce, Saas, and iGaming, Ganesh has launched and scaled products across UK, Europe, Latam, Asia, and North America, navigating diverse regulatory environments, payment preferences, and customer behaviours,” Paysecure stated.
Discussing Piper’s appointment as Senior Partnerships Manager, the company said that Piper will focus on growing revenues from its partner network and securing new strategic partners to accelerate growth.

Nancy MacIntyre joins THNDR as strategic advisor
Former WorldWinner CEO Nancy MacIntyre has joined THNDR as a strategic advisor.
THNDR stated that MacIntyre will be advising its leadership as the company brings more operators onto its skill games network.
In its announcement of the development, THNDR stated that MacIntyre “brings more than 25 years in gaming and digital entertainment,” as it detailed how she has served as CEO of WorldWinner and held senior leadership roles at LucasArts, Atari, Hasbro, and LeapFrog.
“Over her career, she has launched more than 100 games and 11 No. 1 titles, generating over $2 billion in revenue. She also co-founded and led Fingerprint, a global provider of digital content for kids that was later acquired by Sandbox & Co,” THNDR stated, as it added that MacIntyre’s experience in scaling real-money skill games maps directly onto the company’s strategy.
“Nancy didn’t just predict the rise of skill gaming, she led it. At WorldWinner she led efforts to take FanDuel FaceOff mainstream and proved this category works at scale,” said THNDR CEO Desiree Dickerson. “As we bring more Tier 1 operators onto our network, that is exactly the expertise we need.
