San Lorenzo de Almagro has officially announced Casino Buenos Aires Online as its new main sponsor, in an agreement that places the company’s logo on the front of the first team’s jersey for the remainder of the year. The deal reflects the gaming industry’s growing influence on Argentine football through sponsorship deals.

Details of the agreement between San Lorenzo and Casino Buenos Aires Online

After two matches without a front sponsor, the Buenos Aires club has sealed an $800,000 deal that, according to Mundo Azulgrana, triples the club’s previous revenue in this category. The contract runs for exactly ten months, from March to December 2026, guaranteeing the sponsor a continuous presence on the official kit during the remainder of the season. The signing ceremony took place on 3 March 2026 at the club’s headquarters, located in the Boedo neighbourhood of the Argentinian capital. Representing San Lorenzo, president Sergio Costantino and general secretary Martín Saiz formalised the agreement on behalf of the club, while Darío Montero, general manager of Casino Buenos Aires Online, and María Laura Ríos, marketing director, highlighted the importance of partnering with a club of San Lorenzo’s tradition and reach.

Visibility and the power of the blue-and-red jersey

This operation not only fills an advertising gap that had worried the club’s directors, but also sets a higher benchmark for future commercial negotiations, according to San Lorenzo’s news portal. One of the club’s most important marketing assets, the jersey, had appeared without a primary sponsor in the previous two games (against Unión de Santa Fe and Huracán). This arrangement appears to be a timely and strategic solution. Such agreements are far from unusual in South American football, where main sponsors contribute between 15% and 40% of clubs’ image rights income, depending on the size of the institution. In San Lorenzo’s case, a club with over one million active supporters, the visibility offered by the first team jersey provides an excellent stage for brands seeking national and international exposure, especially in competitions like the Copa Libertadores, where San Lorenzo has a regular presence.

Argentine football giants with gaming sponsors

In 2026, a number of Argentine teams showcase sponsorships from the gaming sector, particularly as primary sponsors of first division teams. Boca Juniors features Betsson prominently on the front of its shirt, River Plate displays Betano across the chest, and Racing Club extended its contract with Betsson in 2025. On the front of Independiente’s jersey, however, is Sportsbet. This trend reinforces commercial visibility both within the Professional League and across continental tournaments.

An $800,000 boost for San Lorenzo’s finances

In addition to providing the club with immediate cash, the partnership with Casino Buenos Aires Online, a digital platform that is gradually gaining popularity in Argentina, creates opportunities for future collaborations, such as joint events or promotions, extending beyond the team’s kit. The total sponsorship value amounts to $800,000, a figure which, according to sources close to the negotiations, triples what San Lorenzo had previously earned for the same category. This rise is no small matter: major clubs like San Lorenzo, operating within an Argentine football landscape affected by chronic inflation, devaluation, and currency restrictions, increasingly depend on income denominated in hard currency to keep their accounts in balance.

Sporting outlook

With the Casino Buenos Aires Online logo taking pride of place on the blue-and-red striped jersey through to the end of the year, San Lorenzo secures premium visibility for its commercial partner, while strengthening its own financial resources to boost competitiveness. The club’s administration has reaffirmed its top priorities, including the possibility of new players joining the first squad in the second half of the season and adjustments to the coaching staff. Will this increase in funds result in successes? The Argentine championship, the Liga profesional, thrilling yet unpredictable, will provide the answer, as long as provincial regulations do not disrupt the continuity of sponsorships from gaming industry companies.
